Meet Brett Yagel
for NY State Assembly

Brett Yagel is a longtime Rockland County community leader, former Mayor of the Village of Pomona, and private-sector professional who has built his career around solving problems and getting results.

Brett's commitment to public service began at the local level, where the decisions made by government can have an immediate impact on families, neighborhoods, and taxpayers. He served for more than a decade on the Village of Pomona Board, including eight years as Mayor from 2011 to 2019.

As Mayor, Brett gained firsthand experience managing municipal government, overseeing budgets, protecting taxpayers, and confronting the challenges facing a growing community. He worked to preserve the character and quality of life residents value while approaching government with fiscal responsibility and accountability.

Brett's service extended beyond Pomona. He has served as President of the Rockland County Conference of Mayors and held a leadership role with the Rockland Municipal Planning Federation, giving him an understanding of the issues facing communities throughout Rockland County.

Outside of government, Brett built a career in the private sector, including work with Lockheed Martin. That combination of professional and public-sector experience has shaped his approach to government: understand the problem, find a solution, and get the job done.

Brett is running for New York State Assembly because he believes Albany needs more problem solvers and fewer career politicians. Families are feeling the pressure of rising costs, taxpayers expect their money to be spent responsibly, and communities deserve a representative who understands the consequences of decisions made in Albany.

In the State Assembly, Brett will bring an independent voice and a results-driven approach to representing the 96th District. He will fight for fiscal responsibility, public safety, responsible development, government accountability, and policies that make Rockland County an affordable place to live, work, raise a family, and retire.

For Brett, this campaign isn't about building a political career. It's about putting experience to work, standing up for the community he has called home, and delivering results for the people of Rockland County.
